Centenary swimmers hit the water at National Junior Championship Gala.

CENTENARY NEWSFLASH


Several Centenary pupils took part in the National Junior Championship Gala. Onesimus Ngwenya, Nsikelelo Sibanda, Nathan Chibva and Sibusiso Sibanda represented Matabeleland and competed over the two day event on Saturday 16th and Sunday the 17th of March held in Bulawayo at Petra College Junior swimming pool. The team was captained by Centenary Headboy Onesimus Ngwenya who put forward an impressive performance in the 12 year old boys category placing second and winning silver in the 50m breaststroke and bronze in the 100m Individual Medley. Nsikelelo Sibanda won the bronze medal for boys 11 year old 50m breaststroke. Nathan Chibva also scooped a silver medal in the 10 year old boys 25m Backstroke. The boys also took part in relay events for their respective age groups, Onesimus helping the 12 year old boys team gain two silver medals for the 100m Medley Relay and Freestyle Relay, while Nathan Chibva swam with his fellow team mates helping them win a silver medal in the 100m Medley Relay and Nsikelelo Sibanda rallied on with the 11 year old boys to win a silver medal in the 100m Medley Relay.
