Impala wins Inter-house Athletics Competition
The Impalas won the 2020 Centenary School Inter House Competitions with an overall of 663 points against Sables 609 points. 9 school records were broken in the competition. The Impalas put on a convincing show at this year’s inter house competition to convincingly thump the Sables.
The Impalas were led by the impressive trio of Tanatswa Vengai (1st in Senior boys long and triple jump), Riyannah Sanangurai (1st in long jump, high jump, 800m) as well as Valentine Chineka (1st in Senior boys 100m and 200m). Their young sensational Musawenkosi Mafu also did not disappoint, managing to fend off stiff competition from Sable’s Nokuthaba Zondo who is surely going to be her rival for many years to come. Musawenkosi managed to take 1st position in the Lower Junior 75m, long and high jump.
The Sable team were well represented on the podium and a number of their athletes produced exceptional performances. Nathan Chibva-Upper middle boys (1st in 800m, Tripple Jump , 100m and 200m), Kaleb Stoddart – Lower Middle Boys (1st in High jump, long jump, 400m and 100m) were undoubtedly their starts for the day.
