Centenary swimmers excel at Matabeleland Junior Championship Gala 2018.
On Sunday the 5th February several centenary pupils took part in the Matabeleland Junior Championship Gala for their respective clubs. These were Tichatonga Makaya (Head Boy,) Onesimus Ngwenya, Nsikelelo Sibanda, Emmanuel Sibanda, Sibusiso Sibanda, Nicholas Majoni, Angelo Gweredza, Thapelo Nare, Courtney Banda, Yolanda Netsha and Nicole Machaya.
Tichatonga Makaya placed first in all events winning gold in 50m Butterfly, 50m backstroke, 50m Breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 100m Individual Medley. He won the Boys 12 year old championship shield and the trophy for the best overall Individual Medley. He is congratulated for breaking both the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle records! Onesimus Ngwenya also put forward an impressive performance placing first and winning gold in the 50m butterfly, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 100m Individual Medley. He broke the 50m breaststroke record and won the 11 year old championship shield.
Nicholas Majoni place second winning the silver medal for boys 10 year old 25m butterfly and Nsikeleo Sibanda won the bronze medal for boys 10 year old 25m butterfly and the gold medal for 25m breaststroke.
